Hodl Hodl’s First Birthday

Dear Hodlers,

Today is Hodl Hodl’s first birthday, and we’d like to celebrate with our community and look back at our first year of operation.

First, we want to thank everyone who believed in us and supported us along the way. Everyone who traded with us, spread the word, advised us, invested in us, you’re all great and we appreciate your belief in us.

We worked hard, listened to your advices and improved our product. Here are some of the highlights of our first year.

Available globally

Hodl Hodl is available in every country in the world, besides US, with offers created by our customers in more than 70 countries.

Payment methods

Within the past year we rapidly added new payment methods to the exchange, and now the numbers are as follows:

• 167 added payment methods
• 48 of them are currently used in offers

We won’t stop with these figures: every one of our customers can propose a new payment method on the page “Payment methods”, and we’ll quickly add it to the exchange.

Currencies

Our customers can create an offer, and tie the price to any fiat currency in the world, and also to 224 cryptocurrencies that are available on such exchanges as:

• Bitfinex
• Bitstamp
• CoinMarketCap
• Coinbase
• Kraken

Offers

We have allowed creating offers since the 11th of February 2018, and began allowing trading on the 23rd of February 2018 (which we consider our birthday), and on this day, the number of offers created was 100+.

Currently, after one year in operation, this number has increased 10 fold, and now there are more than 1000 offers on the exchange.

We are trying to make Hodl Hodl accessible to everyone, therefore, we are translating it into different languages, and supporting our customers 24/7.

How Hodl Hodl works

If anyone is still not familiar with our service, we’re happy to introduce you to our exchange.

Hodl Hodl is a global P2P cryptocurrency exchange that allows users to trade directly with each other and it doesn’t hold user funds — locking it in multisig escrow instead — which minimizes the possibilities of cryptocurrency theft and reduces trading time.

Trade workflow:

1. Each time a contract is created between two parties, Hodl Hodl generates a unique multisig escrow cryptocurrency address.
2. The seller sends cryptocurrency from his wallet to escrow.
3. When the cryptocurrency is locked in escrow, the buyer sends fiat to the seller.
4. The seller then releases the locked cryptocurrency from escrow, and the buyer receives it into his wallet.
