Hodl Hodl v1.57 New features: Offer page redesign, New API releases.
As promised, we are proud to present more new features on Hodl Hodl!
A new design for the offer creation page.
Thanks to user feedback, we have redesigned the “Offer Creation” page to make it far more intuitive and generally easier to use. We even added some information on the page for all our newcomer traders. So go check it out and let us know what you think!
Step by step instructions for creating an offer:
- Choose if you want to create an offer to buy or sell Bitcoin.
- Choose what price you will charge or pay per bitcoin. You can set an exact price or tie it to an exchange rate.
- Set the minimum and maximum amounts you are willing to trade for in a single contract.
- If you want to trade only within a certain country, choose that country. Otherwise the offer will be global.
- Choose the payment method for the trade. If you are selling Bitcoin, specify how you want to be paid and add the relevant details (for example your account number). If you are buying Bitcoin, choose the payment method/s you are willing to use for payment.
- Choose how long you are willing to wait for payment once the contract is created. When the payment window expires, a dispute can be started. It’s important that the payment window gives enough time for the seller to confirm payment before releasing the bitcoins.
- Decide what times of the day you would like the offer to be visible on the offers page. This will be in your local time.
- Decide how many confirmations you will need to wait for before the buyer can safely send the payment. More confirmations take more time.
- Fill in optional settings if you want to set more terms. Filling in the “Offer balance” will allow you to control how many times an offer can be accepted.
- “First trade limit” allows you to set a limit on how much a trader can trade with you in your first contract with each other.
- “Title” and “Description” allow you to give additional information before the offer is accepted.
- Check the “Enabled” box to make your offer public and active. You can preview the offer by saving without enabling it. Don’t worry, you can edit the offer at any time and enable it.
- By checking the “Private” box you are making your offer available only to people with the link. In other words, it will not be seen on the offer page even when enabled.
- You can check the “For experienced users only” box to allow trades only with users who have previously completed at least one contract. Note that this will not apply to private trades.
- Save your offer and you are ready to trade! For extra efficiency, be sure to enable our notifications bot on Telegram. And remember that when a user is offline for 5 days, all their offers become inactive. So check back and enable them.
Impatient? create an OTC request (top left of the page) and we will help you find a counterparty for your trade!
API for chats and contracts
With our chat API you can fetch all the messages related to a contract, and with our contract listing API you can fetch all the contracts you are participating in, all without visiting the site!
You can get access to our API documentation from your account settings on the website, we look forward to all the new and creative ways our services will be used.
General improvements to our API
