Hodl Hodl v1.38 new features: offer bot improvements and reduced auto-disable time for offers
Today we would like to share the important and visible updates to Hodl Hodl’s current version, at the moment of the 30th of October, 2019.
Let’s get everything in order.
Offer bot update
We’ve recently announced an improvement, and finally it’s been implemented.
For a quick summary, in 2018, we created a separate Twitter account with the idea of connecting cryptocurrency buyers and sellers to the latest and best offers at Hodl Hodl.
For quite some time, we have operated this Twitter account manually, and once we automated this process, every offer created on Hodl Hodl has been, and currently is, automatically posted on our Twitter account and our Telegram channel.
Now, we have improved our offer bot, and everyone is able to instantly see any arbitrage opportunity in newly created offers:
- When the price of the sell offer is below the market price (meaning you can buy cheaper than the market rate);
- When the price of the buy offer is above the market price (meaning you can sell higher than the market rate).
Reduced auto-disable time for offers
These words may sound scary, but it’s actually not that bad. Every offer at Hodl Hodl is automatically disabled if the offer creator hasn’t been online in the last two weeks (we inform you one day before it happens, for sure).
When we implemented this feature, we wanted to:
- Reduce the number of irrelevant offers
- Increase the online time for our customers
Our experience shows that the online time of our customers has been increasing, and number of cancelled contracts has been decreasing, both due to the decreased amount of irrelevant offers.
The only thing we are changing right now — the length of time before an offer is automatically disabled: we reduced the number of days from 14 to 10, which means that after 10 days of being inactive on the exchange, your offers will be automatically disabled (but you can enable them manually, after logging in).
That’s it for now, other things have been changed too, but they’re not clearly visible to customers. Stay tuned for more updates and follow us everywhere!
Locked button for creating contracts — bug fix
Some of our customers could have encountered a bug where the contract creation button locks for some strange reason, despite the fact that every single field on the form was filled in.
The issue only occured after the offer data was updated (we show the changes in real time), and the only way to create the contract was to reload the page and fill in all the fields from scratch.
Now the issue is fixed, and an update to the offer data doesn’t affect the ability to create a new contract.
