Hodl Hodl v1.36 new features: online indicator update, reviews, and mobile version
Baltic Honeybadger 2019 is over, and everyone on our team is back on track, and now we want to shed light on the new and upcoming features, what we’ve been working on lately.
Let’s get everything in order.
- Online indicator
There has always been an online indicator on the avatars of other customers (for example, in the offer list), but we’ve upgraded it. From now on, there are three online status indicators:
- Green — means the user is currently online;
- Yellow — we added this one recently, it means the user has been online within the past 72 hours;
- Grey — means that the user is currently offline.
The new status is helpful to understand when the offer creator was last online, which may indicate how responsive the user will be to new contracts and messages.
2. Buyer can’t leave a review in the contract…
unless he sent fiat to the seller. Originally, we allowed every user to review his counterparty even if the contract was cancelled (but only if the bitcoins were sent to escrow).
The problem with this approach, is that buyers, without sending fiat to the seller, could ruin the reputation of the seller, and moreover, make him pay the transaction fees — to and from escrow.
From now on, only the seller can leave a review in a cancelled contract, but only if bitcoins were sent to escrow.
3. Mobile version
Last year, we had around 35% of visits come from mobile devices. This was a problem due in part to our priorities and resources available. We were not able to tackle the mobile version, and using it was inconvenient (and sometimes impossible.)
And we decided to separate the mobile version’s update into two parts:
- First, we fixed the functionality, to make it usable.
- Second, we’ll redesign the mobile version of the exchange, to simplify the interface.
And… the first step is already done. Everyone can already use the exchange from your mobile phones and devices: we’ve fixed all the issues that prevented use of our platform from mobile.
We are actively working on the exchange right now, expect more updates and new features soon!
