2020 Roadmap
2019 was a very productive year for the Hodl Hodl team, as we have been growing, developing new features, and improving our platform. Going into the New Year of 2020, we want to thank everyone who was either with us over the past year, traded at Hodl Hodl, used our Predictions platform, came to Baltic Honeybadger, or supported us in any way!
We have huge plans for next year, and in this post we will share some features, initiatives, and events you can be expecting.
Proof of keys
Starting on the 1st of January, we are discounting the exchange fee to 0% for ten days to support the annual Proof of Keys initiative. Your keys, your Bitcoins.
Redesign
The new design of Hodl Hodl’s trading platform, with a simplified UI/UX is already coming this January. The redesign will be not only be visual, but also functional.
The redesign sprint will officially begin 07.01.2020. For the 1st step, we will present a new look for some of the most crucial parts of our platform, and we will remove some of the existing parts. Check out a newly designed page below.
Furthermore, we are going to redesign our Predictions platform & Hodl Hodl News.
Lightning
As mentioned earlier, along with the redesign, we are changing how Hodl Hodl functions by combining both exchange modes, On-chain and Lightning together in a single offer list. Also, we are planning to develop an exciting future with Lightning. Due to this technical process of development, we are temporarily removing Lightning mode from the exchange for a few months.
API
A few weeks ago we released the first part of the API that allows anyone to get and manage offers on the exchange. Further releases of our API are coming next year.
- The next update of the API relates to on-chain contracts: you’ll be able to create, view and manage them, all through the application programming interface.
- The update after that will give you access to Lightning Network contracts.
- Lastly, we’ll continue supporting and updating our API according to requests and feedback from our customers.
In addition, through our API, we are expecting to begin partnerships and integrations with services such as BlueWallet and Yadio.
Opensource
Hodl Hodl will open source its exchange code, which will allow anyone to run their own P2P Bitcoin exchange, under their own name, from their own server.
Escrow API
Hodl Hodl is going to release an API platform for it’s generic escrow contracts. This means that if you want to build a service that uses Bitcoin or Lightning Network escrow, you don’t need to learn the Bitcoin protocol or Lightning network protocol, you don’t need to hire Bitcoin or Lightning developers, you don’t need to take care of the updates or test your service for vulnerabilities. All you need is to integrate a simple API.
Strong Hodler
We are launching a new loyalty program called Strong Hodler. The idea behind it is to have trusted users on the exchange, who will be a part of our new P2P reputation system.
Baltic Honeybadger 2020
